Happy Wednesday, I hope it's wonderful! Today's amazing guest is Phyllis Leavitt! Phyllis graduated from Antioch University with a Masters’ Degree in Psychology and Counseling in 1989. She co-directed a sexual abuse treatment program called Parents United in Santa Fe, New Mexico until 1991 and then went into private practice full time. As a psychotherapist, Phyllis treated children, families, couples, and individual adults for 34 years, and has worked extensively with abuse and dysfunctional family dynamics, their aftermath, and some of the most important elements for healing, including the intersection of our emotional wellbeing and spiritual healing and connection. Phyllis published two previous books, A Light in the Darkness and Into the Fire. Phyllis' latest book, America in Therapy: A New Approach to Hope and Healing for a Nation in Crisis as well, speaks to all of us who feel the call for help coming from humanity and want to respond, to those who fear for our children and all future generations, and who may feel hopeless or resigned or simply don't know what to do to help create a more loving and sustainable world. Phyllis brings a message of both urgency and hope, in language the layman can easily relate to and understand, through personal stories, client case studies, and professional expertise. Phyllis' website is here, where you can receive a free PDF called The 6 Secrets for Repairing Relationships after Conflict. You can also sign in for her Conflict Type Quiz and order your copy of her book, "America in Therapy: A New Approach to Hope and Healing for a Nation in Crisis."
