It’s no wonder that empathy may sometimes feel like an impossible luxury in such high-stake situations. When faced with aggression or defiance, the natural response might be to double down on authority. Yet, here’s the truth: empathy is not a weakness. It’s a strength. When used effectively, it becomes a practical tool for handling even the most difficult situations, offering a pathway to defuse tension, build trust, and encourage positive change.
