To truly grasp the essence of Stoicism one must begin by exploring its foundational elements historical context and the timeless wisdom it offers. Stoicism a school of Hellenistic philosophy originated in ancient Greece and was founded by Zeno of Citium in the early 3rd century BC. The name Stoicism itself derives from the Stoa Poikile or Painted Porch in Athens where Zeno taught his ideas.
