The Red Sox (38-37) season-high 6-game win streak came to an end Tuesday night with the Seattle Mariners thumping the Red Sox, 8-0, at T-Mobile Park in Seattle. The Red Sox were held to 2 hits, had 5 total base runners and were shutout for the 2nd time this season. Marcelo Mayer led off the 5th with a single off winning pitcher Bryan Woo and Nate Eaton had a leadoff single in the 9th.

Rough 1 For Buehler: Walker Buehler got the start in Game 2 of the series against the Mariners Tuesday night, and he ended up with the loss. Buehler lasted just 3.1 innings and was charged with 8 earned runs. Cal Raleigh highlighted the Mariners 5-run 2nd Inning against Buehler with a Grand Slam. Buehler gave up 3 more runs and was chased from the game in the 4th Inning. The Red Sox are now 7-5 in Buehler's 1st 12 outings. He's now allowed 7 Home Runs over his last 5 starts and 12 on the season.

#'s of the Night: The Red Sox are 1-for-3 with Runners in Scoring Position over the 1st 2 games of the series. David Hamilton went 0-for-2 with a walk and is hitless in his last 12 at-bats. Adding to the Pen: The Red Sox pulled off a trade with the Twins last Wednesday, acquiring reliever Jorge Alcala in exchange for minor league infielder Andy Lugo. Alcala still has not made his Red Sox debut. Lugo was playing for Advanced-A Greenville this season. Alcala, 29, has pitched in relief throughout his 7 seasons in the Big Leagues, all with the Twins. Brian Van Belle was designated for assignment after he was added to both the 40-man and active rosters on Tuesday. The Red Sox traded Van Belle to the Reds for cash considerations on Saturday and he was optioned to Triple-A.

What's On Tap?: The Red Sox conclude their series with the Mariners Wednesday afternoon in Seattle. Garrett Crochet will take the mound in the finale looking for his 7th win of the season. Luis Castillo is scheduled to start for the Mariners. After an off day on Thursday, the Red Sox open up a 3-game series against Rafael Devers and the Giants Friday night in San Francisco. The longest road trip of the season wraps up with 3 in Anaheim against the Angels starting next Monday.
