The Red Sox (75-60) returned home from a 7-1 road trip and lost the series opener, 4-2, to the Pittsburgh Pirates in front of a sellout crowd of 36,344 Friday night at Fenway Park. The Sox 4-game win streak came to an end with the loss, and they've now lost 4 straight at Fenway.

Sox at the Dish: The Sox got on the board first, scoring in the 4th on a Ceddanne Rafaela infield Single and an E-5 that scored Masa Yoshida. Roman Anthony made it 2-0 with a Home Run to lead off the 5th Inning. It's Anthony's 8th Home Run of the season and 3rd in 5 Games. Romy Gonzalez collected 3 Singles in the loss. Alex Bregman went 0-for-4 and Trevor Story went 0-for-4 with 3 strikeouts. Bregman has 1 hit in his last 19 at-bats.

Rookie Debut: 22-year-old Payton Tolle made his MLB debut in the series opener Friday night and tossed 5 scoreless before giving way to the bullpen in the 6th Inning. He exited with a 2-0 lead but ended up with a No-Decision. Tolle ended up going 5.1 Innings and he was charged with 2 earned runs. He walked 2 and struck out 8. Tolle worked out of a 2nd & 3rd and nobody out situation the 2nd Inning. He departed after allowing back-to-back 1-out, Singles in the 6th. Greg Weissert entered and gave up a 2-run Double to Tommy Pham that tied the game at 2 and closed the book on Tolle.
