The Red Sox (32-35) dropped the series opener, 10-8 in 11 Innings, to the Tampa Bay Rays in front of 32,422 at Fenway Park Monday night. Zack Kelly gave up 2 runs in the Top of the 11th and took the loss. The Red Sox were looking to win their 3rd straight game for the 1st time since late April.

MLB Debut: Roman Anthony, baseball's top prospect, was promoted from Triple-A Worcester and he made his MLB debut against the Rays. Anthony is the 4th player to make his MLB this season with the Red Sox, joining Kristian Campbell, Hunter Dobbins, and Marcelo Mayer. The 21-year-old went (0-for-4) with a walk and RBI groundout in his debut.

Bello On The Bump: Brayan Bello made the start in the series opener vs. the Rays Monday night and he ended up with a no-decision. Bello was charged with 4 runs, 3 earned runs, over 6.1 Innings. He walked the leadoff hitter in the 7th and Taylor Walls eventually scored to put the Rays up 4-3. Bello's last winning decision at Cleveland on April 27. The club won his 1st 4 starts but have now lost 5 of his last 6 outings.

Sox At The Dish: Connor Wong was in the starting lineup Monday night, and he went 0-for-2 with a walk and a run scored before he was lifted for a pinch-hitter. Wong left the bases loaded in the 2nd when he grounded out to 3rd for the final out of the Inning. Wong hit into a 6-4-3 double play with runners at 1st & 3rd in the 5th. Wong is now 0-for-22 with Runners in Scoring Position this season. He still does not have an RBI in 25 Games.

Other Roster Moves: Anthony's call-up was prompted by Wilyer Abreu going on in the Injured List with a strained oblique. The Red Sox announced that they designated Robert Stock for assignment. It's the 2nd time this season where Stock has been DFA'd by the Sox. The Red Sox also added 28-year-old right-handed pitcher Brian Van Belle to the 40-man roster. Van Belle pitched at Miami and is in his 5th year in the Red Sox organization.

What's On Tap?: The Rays and Red Sox continue their 3-game series Tuesday night at Fenway. Lucas Giolito opposes Ryan Pepiot in Game 2. The Rays and Red Sox conclude their series Wednesday night. After Thursday's off day, the Red Sox will begin a 3-game series against the Yankees Friday night. The Sox are in a stretch of playing 9 straight games against AL East clubs. After next Sunday, the Red Sox will embark on a 9-game road trip with 3 in Seattle, 3 in San Francisco, & 3 in Anaheim.
