The Tampa Bay Rays only musters 3 hits in a 3-1 loss to the Red Sox. The Rays trailed almost the entire game in this one. The Red Sox got 2 in the first thanks to a Roman Anthony 2 RBI single. The offense could never mount any momentum. Yandy Diaz would get the Rays on the board with a RBI single in the 5th to make it 2-1. Trevor Story hit a solo home run in the 6th to give the Red Sox some insurance to make it 3-1. Ryan Pepiot started for the Rays and was stellar again. He only ended up going 5.2 IP but was hampered by a few defensive errors that upped his pitch count. He got 19 swing and misses and collected 9 strike outs. The Rays will look for the series win tomorrow.
