Letter vs. Spirit: Are You Really Living God’s Holiness? Is following the rules enough to be holy? Our current Torah portion challenges us to think beyond just the letter of the Law. Our sages warn that it’s possible to be “disgusting with the permission of the Torah”—living within the technical boundaries but completely missing the heart of God’s instructions. Yeshua and Paul taught that the Spirit of the Law takes it to a whole new level—moving from external obedience to internal transformation.
