Brooke Deanne—a trauma healing mentor, RTT therapist, NLP practitioner, and author of Shattered, Broken & Beautiful: Losing My Religion and Finding Faith.

Brooke takes us through her powerful story of growing up in a high-control religion, where fear, shame, and obedience were the foundation. She opens up about what it was like being born into the system, punished for basic human experiences, and ultimately pushed into a long-term abusive marriage.

But this episode isn’t just about the trauma—it’s about what happens after the breakdown. Brooke shares how a toxic friendship became the unexpected catalyst that opened her eyes to narcissistic abuse, both in her relationships and within the religion itself. That realization eventually led her to walk away from it all—and into a full-blown spiritual awakening.

We talk about:

  • What narcissistic abuse actually looks like (and how to spot it in relationships and communities)
  • How trauma bonds work and why they’re so hard to break
  • The physical side of healing (because healing isn’t just mental—it lives in your body too)
  • Kundalini awakenings, past life regressions, and how Brooke reclaimed her spiritual connection outside of dogma
  • Why talk therapy can only go so far—and what healing looks like when you go beyond the surface

Brooke’s story is raw, real, and so deeply human. If you’ve ever felt trapped by a belief system, lost in an abusive relationship, or unsure of who you are without the roles you’ve been given—this episode is for you.

Her transformation didn’t happen overnight, and it wasn’t easy—but it’s proof that no matter how far gone you feel, you can come back home to yourself.
