Karen Barensché, Regional Coordinator for URI Southern Africa, joins us to share her social perspective on community and enterprise, and how the powerful bridging work of organisations such as URI are making a critical impact.

Our moral responsibility to the environment and to social upliftment is one we cannot ignore. Yes, we could throw money at it and sleep at night that we have allocated enough budget to CSR or corporate social responsibility. Yet what is the impact of our thinking, decisions and actions? Does our organisation and leadership truly grasp the massive social divide that there is and the mechanisms through which industry and business keep driving a wedge into widening that divide? Let’s challenge our thinking!
