Manage episode 482577712 series 3550694
Gemini Adams is a Trauma Recovery Specialist who is passionate about resolving the painful legacy of childhood trauma. She has over 25 years of experience delivering effective treatments for those who grew up with emotional neglect, abandonment, or abuse, resulting in ‘survival mode’ and maladaptive relating strategies as the norm.
Gemini has contributed to the fields of mental health and social change worldwide working in addiction recovery with The Center for Relational Healing in the USA and betrayal trauma recovery with Helping Couples Heal. She has spent the past 8 years offering Trauma Awareness training programs throughout Asia with < UNION > Institute, and has a private practice, working in-person and online to treat the invisible disability that is C-PTSD with her clients using a combination of Somatic Therapies and Inner-Child Parts Work.
In this deeply insightful conversation, we explore how unresolved trauma keeps many of us trapped in survival mode—fight, flight, or freeze—disrupting our ability to connect, feel joy, or set boundaries. Gemini shares her wisdom on the importance of embodied safety, the difference between PTSD and Complex PTSD, and how somatic practices like Trauma Release Exercises (TRE) and trauma-sensitive yoga can support healing. We also dive into the transformative power of self-compassion, choice, and cultivating healthy relationships.
If you’re seeking to understand why you feel stuck, disconnected, or overwhelmed, and want practical strategies to move forward, this episode is for you.
