Continuing our series on the manipulation of language, I'm looking at the intentional twisting of the word slander. This has been on my list for months to talk about.

More and more, (shockingly, even in the Christian sphere) people are calling any public criticism “slander”—not because it’s false, but because it’s uncomfortable.

In this episode, we examine how the term slander is being twisted into a weapon, often by cowards who want to deflect from their own bad behavior, validate their victimhood, destroy their opponents, and avoid the responsibility of actually dealing with criticism.

We’ll explore:

How people often inappropriately weaponize the word slander.

The difference between actual slander and legitimate critique

A personal example of someone accusing me of slander, and why it completely backfires.

And how to equip yourself to never be a slanderer, and deal with dishonest slander accusations.
