In this episode of Spearhead Conversations, host Xavier Mercado sits down with Jez Hernandez, founder of The Sweet Shop 28 and Mini Stacked MKE. Originally from Guadalajara, Jalisco, and raised in California and Wisconsin, Jez shares her inspiring journey of immigrating to the U.S. and finding her path as an entrepreneur.

Her love for fashion, influenced by her mother’s work as a clothing vendor, led her to start The Sweet Shop 28, an online boutique offering clothing and accessories. Despite early setbacks and self-doubt, Jez pushed forward with creativity, faith, and family support, eventually growing a loyal customer base across the U.S. and beyond.

When the fashion business slowed, Jez shifted her focus and launched Mini Stacked MKE, a dessert food truck featuring mini pancakes and churros infused with flavors inspired by her Mexican roots. Alongside her 17-year-old son Jacob, she runs a family-centered operation fueled by passion and innovation.

Throughout the conversation, Jez speaks candidly about overcoming barriers, building confidence, and staying true to her culture. Her story offers inspiration to aspiring entrepreneurs, reminding them to embrace risk, stay consistent, and always lead with heart.
