E-commerce has changed people's lives dramatically. According to a BigCommerce trend research, although e-commerce purchases accounted for 14.1% of worldwide retail sales, the figure is expected to rise to 22% by 2023. There are a number of new e-commerce trends that have emerged over the years, including the mobile consumer experience, social software shopping, and precision marketing. When people begin shopping online, the customer journey is easily tracked and serves as the foundation for merchants' re-marketing efforts.
"The problem is, I've discovered that businesses generally don't know how to use data to solve business problems," explains Tresl founder John Chao. With significant data science knowledge, this former LinkedIn senior manager founded Tresl, a startup that helps e-commerce brands to thrive through data science, and Segments, a Shopify app that strives to empower e-commerce brands with data analysis capabilities. We are excited to have John Chao on our show to share his philosophy and disclose the inspiring stories that have led to Tresl's success.
