As the founding director of the International Trauma Studies Program, Jack has dedicated his life to enhancing the natural resilience and coping capacities of individuals, families, and communities that have endured or are threatened by traumatic events.

Jack's impressive background includes faculty positions at the New York University School of Medicine's Department of Psychiatry, the New School for Social Research Clinical Psychology Program, and the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. As a psychologist and family therapist, he has created numerous clinical and community-based programs in NYC and abroad for populations that have endured disaster, war, torture, and political violence.


Dr. Jack truly is one of the pioneering voices in empowering individuals to help each other heal in community settings.
