Prior to switching to fields to epidemiology, Laura was a postdoctoral fellow in physics at Northwestern University’s Center for Interdisciplinary Exploration and Research in Astrophysics (CIERA) and focused her research on gravitational wave astrophysics. In 2016, she was one of five selected for The L’Oréal USA For Women in Science fellowship. The program recognizes exemplary female scientists for their contributions in the STEM fields and for their commitment to serving as role models for younger generations.
