Yes, I realize that I was going to write a summary of these past episodes concerning the Oxford group and its connection to the 12 steps. However, the more I thought about it the more I realized that I needed to speak more about the last episode and the Four Absolutes we have inherited from the Oxford group. Whereas the 12 step program is not a direct continuation of the Oxford Group concepts, they are, in my opinion, totally derive from the Oxford Group Movement.

So, I’m going to use this episode to sort of, rehash the 4 Absolutes from the previous episode. I’m going to, once again, show the connection between these four absolutes and our 12-step program. As a reminder, the 4 Absolutes are:

1. Honesty

2. Purity

3. Unselfishness

4. Love

These absolutes are the crux of the 12 step program.

The first, Honesty, is really synonymous with the first 3 steps in the 12 step program. The second, Purity, I believe to be described as steps six and seven.

The 3rd, unselfishness, is most certainly referenced beautifully by the 12th of step.

The 4th Absolute, Love, references the whole of the 12 steps in that they epitomize love of self, love of others, and love of God.

I sincerely hope that you enjoy this podcast. Once again, I would be honored to receive any questions or comments about this podcast. My email address is: [email protected]
