Meet Prakash Behura, a part-time Swing Trader who has been active in the stock market for the past few years and focused on swing trading for the last three. He follows a structured methodology to filter potential stocks before making any trade decisions.
Prakash starts by shortlisting stocks based on key fundamental parameters such as promoter holding, positive EPS, strong cash flows, and consistent quarter-on-quarter growth. Once filtered, he performs competitive benchmarking and digs deeper into financial metrics like revenue and EBITDA.
From this process, he typically narrows down to 10–12 promising stocks. However, he doesn’t invest in all of them. He prefers to stay selective, picking 3–4 at most, while keeping his strategy simple and avoiding overly technical complexities.
Despite having a full-time job, Prakash efficiently manages his trading activity with patience and discipline. In this video, he discusses how he plans his entries and exits in swing trades — especially the often tricky part of knowing when to exit. His rules around this are clear and well-thought-out.
We also explore how he uses a detailed Excel sheet to track his positions, record his notes, and review his trades when needed.
Watch the full conversation to understand his practical and methodical swing trading approach!
