“My final day as an employee would also be the first one as a full-time entrepreneur… working toward living my best life.”

—Dee Boswell-Buck.

Are you thinking of turning your side hustle into a full-time gig?

If you’re already in the process of making the change from employee to entrepreneur, you know that the balancing act between your work and personal life is not easy.

I was where you are. To turn my side hustle into my main business, I had to overcome many obstacles while juggling motherhood, work, and school. So why did I do it? Because of my why.

After working for the same company for over 20 years, my life changed overnight when my daughter was born. However, I didn’t realize how much I had changed. Motherhood provided me with the time, space, and skills — founding, leading, and growing a parenting group — to realize that I wanted to work in social media marketing.

This was my first declaration of change, but my aspiration was realized through difficult decisions. On this episode of Strategize Your Business Online, I share my story — as told in the bestselling book, The Balancing ACT: The Quest for Work/Life Balance. A big part of my entrepreneurial journey has been documenting my story online, and I was so excited to join 11 other women entrepreneurs in guiding readers through our experiences in The Balancing ACT.

I’m going to be real with you. The road ahead will be rough. But if you hold yourself accountable, strategize your side hustle, and manage your goals, you can balance your work and private life to take your business from start-up to success. My story takes you through the personal and professional highs and lows on my path to becoming a small business owner. I hope it inspires you to ask yourself: What’s my WHY?

>> The tips and tricks I learned (the hard way!) to overcome business obstacles online.
