Documentary director Alex Braverman unravels the beautiful madness of Andy Kaufman in his
new film, Thank You Very Much. He reveals how he tracked down hidden gems from Kaufman’s inner circle, got Danny DeVito to spill hilarious stories, and uncovered the Iranian roommate who inspired one of Andy’s most iconic characters. He talks unearthing the never-before-seen 70s footage from Andy’s longtime collaborator and close friend Bob Zmuda’s vault, including the legendary Tony Clifton meltdowns (like his infamous Taxi firing), and addresses the rumors that Andy faked his own death. He also shares some of the stories and interviews that were left on the cutting floor like the time Andy Kaufman hid out in a Las Vegas hotel just to meet his idol. Elvis Presley, and the words of wisdom that Elvis passed onto his biggest fan. Alex shares stories about Andy Kaufman and his dad, Andy’s funeral and why no one really attended, and how then SNL Executive Producer Dick Ebersol got regular guest Andy Kaufman thrown off the show!
