When the pandemic yanked millions from their offices, to work from their kitchen tables and spare rooms, it came with a whole new way of working. New habits, new tools. This was remote working.
Or, at least, that’s what we thought.
Our guest for this episode of Talking with Tech Leaders, Gary Walker, has a different view: this was not true remote working, just lots of the usual office-based approaches dragged into our homes. And, as the author of Ready for Remote, his is an opinion worth hearing.
Over the course of our conversation, we chat through his career – solving problems, leading teams and harnessing tech innovations – and talk about the ways we’ve got our approach to WFH all wrong. The green dot of constant availability, the interrupting pings and prods, the aimless update meetings. Instead, he offers a different vision of a more flexible, productive and healthy approach. It’s well worth a listen.
