RFK Jr. fires entire vaccine panel.
Manage episode 488147670 series 2886717
On Monday, Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. removed all 17 members of the independent Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices (ACIP) for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The panel is responsible for developing recommendations for safe vaccine use and the U.S. adult and childhood immunization schedules, and the HHS secretary appoints its members to serve four-year terms. Kennedy says the move will allow the Trump administration to appoint its own members and restore public trust in vaccines.
