Finally dismantling the Department of Education!
I saw a group of “rainbow” demonstrators who are against shutting down the Department of Education. Their signs read, “Protect our kids!” What are we going to protect our kids from? Having the worst schools in the developed world? Test scores and general knowledge were so much higher before the Department of Education got involved. It seems everything the federal government touches, it makes worse. Especially education! President Trump derided the Department of Education as “wasteful, and polluted by liberal ideology.” But it looks like Congress is going to have to do the dismantling. The White House fact sheet said the order would direct Secretary Linda McMahon to take all necessary steps to facilitate the closure of the Department of Education, and return education authority to the states.
