Unsung Heros
A few months ago, I reconnected with my Latin teacher from high school. I managed to find her on social media and sent a long message where I detailed some of my professional exploits and how the Latin we learned was so instrumental in understanding how words and languages are formulated today. From seeing commonality in German and Africans to understanding how Asian Languages are structured.

Her reply back was amazing and it was clear that the contact had made her day. My own wife is a teacher and I know from her comments and the classes I have taught how satisfying it is to see someone actually grasp a concept.

Teachers play a vital role for any society and the constraints they work in can be challenging, but the effect they have on each of us is profound. Teachers literally provide the basis on which mentoring can rest. As you interact with teachers or possibly reconnect with one form your past, think about the tremendous effect they really have.
