Christopher Mitchell was born in Queens, New York, and studied at both Florida International University and Pratt Institute. He has been visiting Haiti since childhood to see family, and while he began photographing Carnival during those visits, it wasn’t until moving to Haiti full-time in 2008 that he deeply immersed himself in documenting and interviewing for Kanaval and Souvenance. His work spans directing, filming, editing, and producing, reflecting his hands-on involvement in every aspect of the creative process.This talk was hosted and edited by Daniela Zulueta, FIU Ratcliffe Art +Design Fellow.
