Navigating college can be challenging, especially when trying to meet with a counselor who keeps canceling your appointments. At #TecoGuide, we know this struggle all too well.

As a college student, you are being trained to become a professional, and professionals keep records. Maintaining a log not only keeps you organized but also serves as evidence if you need to escalate your concerns.

Here’s a strategy that works:

keep a log of every interaction—dates, names, and what was discussed. If after 3–4 failed attempts you still can’t secure an appointment, escalate. Email the Dean of Counseling and the Vice President of Student Services, attach your log, and express your concerns. If no response? Consider filing a formal grievance, which institutions take very seriously.

You have the right to access the support you need. Be persistent, document everything, and advocate for yourself. Want more tips like this? Check out #TecoGuide, the app designed to help you make smart decisions about your college and career journey.
