Denes Chapo is an investment banker and has competed in endurance competitions over the years, including completing an Iron Man distance race in Idaho. Much of this episode centers around the detection of incredible blockage in the arteries of his heart, including the infamous Widowmaker of which he had 94% blockage. Suffice to say he needed emergency quintuple bypass surgery, which took place roughly 2 years ago. In some ways, our chats is a cautionarytale, and other ways, it’s a testament to the fact that he did everything possible to be healthy, but genetics were not cooperating in the least. The one take away we’d love would be that You, dear listener take an extra step to have your health checked out. Denes had no symptoms.
