In today's episode actor Jon Beavers takes us through his unconventional journey, building a career without formal training, learning by doing, and soaking up knowledge on set. Jon talks about his breakout on Nickelodeon’s The Fresh Beat Band, a gig that turned into a rockstar-like tour, and how it became paid training in front of the camera. From there, Jon shares the tough-love casting feedback that changed everything, his years of technical training, and how key roles in The Long Road Home, Animal Kingdom, and Bel-Air gave him the reps to evolve and break industry molds.
Jon also reflects on working with legends like Sterling K. Brown and Julianne Moore on Paradise, and his recent turn as Junior Sykes in Kevin Costner’s Horizon: An American Saga. He shares his audition process for Paradise that was so good, the creator Dan Fogelman tweeted about it.
