Look, I think being a Projector is awesome. But I also know that sometimes it can suck. And because I believe in looking at both the awesome and the not-so-awesome, we're diving into 7 challenges Projector face. However, we won't just talk about the challenges - we'll also talk about how Projectors can move through those challenges and overcome them.
Because every challenge we come across is a learning opportunity. It gives us a chance to learn more about our energy, the world around us, and how we really want to move through it. And while you will see the top-of-mind challenges like waiting, making money, and burnout, we'll also talk about some other challenges that don't get quite as much attention.
As you listen to the episode, notice where you feel a lot of frustration or resonance with a particular challenge. And then take what I recommend for overcoming that challenge and tweak it to work for you and your energy. It's ok to say that things are difficult or hard - and it's ok to give yourself the space to process them. But after that, it's time to shift and move past that challenge - in alignment with your Projector energy.

It's been almost 6 years since I started the That Projector Life podcast, and it's been a wonderful few years of growth, learning, and change. However, this is the last episode. I've finally felt the push to release That Projector Life and close up shop. And now that I've decided to cut cords, my Martyr line is adamant that we do it sooner rather than later. So while I realize this decision may seem out of the blue, I feel it's been a long time coming. I don't feel like I can give TPL much more, and I'm ok with that. I've had a good run here, and Human Design has helped me become more comfortable and happy with who I am. I believe I've done what I set out to do - create something I'm proud of, express myself authentically, and guide others along the way. I also feel the winds of change blowing me elsewhere (of course, I have no idea where specifically...just not here). And being me, I have to follow that path. It's also a little exciting to once again step into the unknown and find my way from scratch. This podcast - and the business around it - has been such a huge part of my life for so long that I will miss it. However, it's time for me to close the book on this chapter of my life. I'm ready to rest deeply. I'm ready to discover a new path. And I'm ready to release this wonderful creation. The podcast and the TPL website will remain available for a while longer. I would like them both to serve as a resource for as long as possible. I'll also open up the TPL Patreon to the public sometime in November. It's time to look at our authorities from a whole new angle: The Dark Side! (Cue Star Wars reference.) Authority is a huge deal in Human Design. It's one of the first things we learn about, and it's one of the things that we return to constantly when it comes to making decisions and living in alignment. But sometimes our authorities aren't always as helpful as we think they are - whether because we misinterpret them or allow them to stray into less than healthy behavior. In this episode, we explore the energy of the Tribe, the Tribal channels, and how they all work together to fulfill the Tribe's purpose: resources and survival. We're kicking off 2024 with an episode all about recognizing yourself. I often get asked how Projectors can encourage others to recognize them (and we talk about this question and its rather difficult answer in this episode). But I rarely (until just recently) get asked how Projectors can recognize themselves. So we're taking a dive into Projector recognition from the perspective of the self - as in recognizing yourself. Because Projectors can definitely recognize themselves, and I certainly encourage Projectors to do so. (I mean, if you don't recognize yourself, can you really live your design?) We'll talk about what it mean to recognize yourself, what that looks like, and how you can go about actually recognizing your energy. And keep in mind that this journey is highly personal, and how you feel recognized may differ from how I feel recognized. Play Later Play Later Lists Like LikedWe're exploring the creative cycle, what it looks like, and how it shows up throughout the Human Design chart. (Notice that we're using the word "cycle" instead of "process" - that's going to be a big thing in this episode.) The creative cycle is a mysterious, sometimes frustrating thing to deal with. However, we'll explore the mechanics of it with some help from the Gene Keys system. We'll dive into Gates 1 and 2 (a.k.a. Gene Keys 1 and 2) to talk about how and where they contribute to the creative cycle. Then, we'll look at how the creative cycle itself shows up in our lives - and what to do when we're in the shadow or winter part of it. (The answer here likely isn't going to be what you expect.) Finally, we'll zoom out and look at the Human Design chart to explore how creativity shines through the different centers. And we'll hammer home the idea that inconsistency is ok - and it's actually how the centers work. (Not even the Sacral center is going to be on all the time. It also needs to rest.) How about just plain disliking it? In this episode, we'll address all of those feelings and go through some action steps you can take to begin to connect with your design. It's important to note that not everyone connects with their design instantly. For some people, it can be a struggle to see themselves in their design. And it can feel rather lonely when you're feeling frustrated with your design while watching other people fall in love with theirs. While these action steps may not help you change your perception or feelings toward your chart overnight, they'll hopefully give you a place to start if you're ready to connect with your chart. Ultimately, the biggest thing to keep in mind is to give yourself time and space to feel and process what you need to. If you feel like you're forcing things by doing this work, then take a step back and return at a later time. It's ok to take space if things aren't feeling correct. Looking at - and talking about - relationship charts in Human Design is Stacy's jam. So that's what we're doing! Stacy gives us a great walk through the Human Design relationship chart and shares the different types of energy dynamics we'll come across and how they can play out in our lives. She also points out that you can't always change how the energy works, so it's important to understand these dynamics. (Also, looking at and understanding your relationship chart can create a lot of "ah-ha" moments for you.) We also talked about how to support your partner, friend, or child when their design is completely different from yours. And here, Stacy's emotional authority really shone. She offers some great strategies and tips for people without an emotional authority when it comes to living - and working with - an emotional authority. And she rightly points out that it really comes down to respect. Trusting the person you're living with is really important. This was such a fun and enlightening walk through the Human Design relationship chart. I hope it helps shed some new light on your relationships with others. In this episode, we're covering a few different things relating to coaches and how to work with them. We'll talk about whether or not Projectors can and should hire non-Projector coaches as well as how to prepare for working with them. In this episode, I'm sharing the breakthrough that I experienced as a result of stepping back and working with the Gene Keys. I started looking at the gates in my Incarnation Cross (what the Gene Keys calls the Activation Sequence) and had a huge shift in my energy and mindset. I'll also talk briefly about what the Gene Keys system is and how I believe it pairs really well with Human Design. Then I'll go into how I worked with these specific Gene Keys and what I experienced as a result of this. The Gene Keys system tends to be a bit more contemplative than Human Design is, and as a result, I struggled to get into it the first time I tried. However, I listened to my energy and followed the flow. That led me to pick up my Gene Keys books and contemplate the energy of my gates. As a result of that, I'm able to share with you the experience and insights that I gleaned. If you're interested in going deeper into your energy, I would recommend the Gene Keys. There is so much pressure in our society to just talk - to say anything - even if you have nothing to say. How are Projectors supposed to navigate a conversation and speak correctly? Is there even a hard-and-fast rule that we can follow? (Spoiler alert: Only if you consider "Follow your authority" a rule). In this episode, we'll talk about our society's obsession with making noise and how we can begin to step back from the fray and observe it more. We'll also cover how Projectors can speak correctly by following our strategy and authority. Though we'll also look at the messy situations that don't allow us to easily follow that suggestion (because sometimes life happens). Are you struggling to connect with and really appreciate your authority? It could be that you're facing what I call your Authority Wound. This is something I've reflected on for a while now, based on my experiences and the experiences of other Projectors. It seems that we all carry with us some kind of wounding message that prohibits us from really accessing and appreciating our authority. We all hear similar messages, but I suspect that our Authority Wound is the message that sticks with us the most - because it's so deeply hurtful. Our Authority Wound serves to disconnect us from our authority - to shame us for following it - and to ultimately give our power away to others. Play Later Play Later Lists Like LikedIn this That Projector Life episode, I'm exploring the deceptive simplicity of being a Self-Projected Projector. It's taken me 4 or 5 years to finally realize and fully understand the nuances that exist in being a Self-Projected Projector (a.k.a. SPP). But when I finally grasped the depth in my design, it hit home hard. And that's what I'm talking about in this episode. We'll revisit the Self-Projected authority, what it looks like in the BodyGraph, and how it works. But then we'll go off the rails a little and talk about being an SPP out in the world. Because that's where my true ah-ha came in. As an SPP, I have to be myself in the world. I have to move through the world as myself. That's crucial to me. And I know that that's true for everyone, but for an SPP, the Identity and G Center hit hard - sometimes it's one of the only centers we have defined. So I explore my realizations that SPPs can have a deep and profound impact on the world simply through being ourselves. I also offer some reflection questions for my fellow SPPs. While this episode may seem like me rambling about myself, I hope that it's helpful for other SPPs who are struggling with this authority and feel like they don't have anything to offer. And my understanding of Human Design and the energy of charts has changed for the better since I first did readings on the show. So we're diving in with a really neat chart - that of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. We'll go through Dr. King's chart and see how the channels and centers played out in his life. (It is really neat to see Human Design in the real world, even though Dr. King wasn't aware of his energy.) But also, remember to take this chart - and the reading - with a grain of salt. I do share where I got Dr. King's birth time and place in the episode, but I'm not sure if it's set in stone. In this episode, we attempt to tackle the age-old questions of "What am I here to do?" and "How do I find that info?" Not surprisingly, we're going to use Human Design to help us find a direction - and potentially some answers - for those questions. I believe there are markers of your soul's purpose in your chart, and we'll talk about each of those markers and how you can use them in the episode. However, I don't think that your design necessarily locks you into a specific path or purpose. (Though I will admit that this is simply my interpretation of the Human Design system. I don't think that you HAVE to be in the teaching profession if you have the teaching channels.) We'll explore the complexity and the layers that exist within the Human Design chart and how those layers can inform your quest to find your purpose and direction. And at the end of the episode, we'll look at two different charts with the same Incarnation Cross and talk about how that theme of direction is present in both charts - but in different ways. We're looking at where, why, and how loneliness shows up in the Human Design Bodygraph and how we can move through it. Loneliness (or the realization that you're separate from a group) can be difficult to handle. We'll talk about things to look for in the Bodygraph that may help explain why we feel that loneliness sometimes. We'll also cover the different ways that aura mechanics work and what leaves us with that feelings of separation. Ultimately, it's not a bad thing to feel lonely (though that doesn't make it any easier to experience). If we're able to step back from our pain and allow ourselves to reflect on what we're going through, we'll uncover some deeper truths about ourselves as individuals - and about the tribe. And that's one of the beauties of loneliness. We're able to gain a new perspective - or uncover a deeper truth - when we allow ourselves to be. It's that time of year when we start thinking about gifts and what to get for that weird distant relative you never talk to. (Or maybe, if you're like me with zero Tribal energy, you ARE that weird distant relative). Either way, I wanted the show to get into the spirit of the season by looking at 5 specific Projector gifts that both Projectors and everyone else should really appreciate more. Because so often, Projectors tend to feel bad that we can't keep up with everyone. Projector guilt is real, and it tends to lead us to question our value and our contributions to society (also, helloooo undefined willpower!). But because of Projectors' unique energy aura, there are gifts that only we can provide. The first gift, slowing down, lays the foundation for all the other gifts. And I think it's probably the most impactful one that Projectors have to offer. However it's important to understand that Projectors can really only access these gifts consistently through deconditioning and living in alignment. Moving through the deconditioning process allows us to see and experience these gifts for ourselves - giving us a taste of the value that we offer to others. Play Later Play Later Lists Like LikedIn this episode, we're looking at chart paradoxes - places where the Human Design chart creates internal tension. These areas are really interesting to look at because they help us understand where some of our internal conflicts can come from. In the case of someone with a Tribal channel and an Individual channel, the tension can come from both being an insider - part of the Tribe - but also from feeling like an outsider - being an Individual. We'll look at other examples of chart paradoxes as well as some common places where you can find one in your own chart. The impact that you notice from these places of potential tension will vary based on the paradox itself as well as other layers in your chart (which we'll talk about in the episode). Ultimately, it's up to you to explore your chart and find those paradoxes and watch them play out. That's really where this comes alive - as you watch it unfold in your own life. Developing an understanding of your unique internal paradox can help provide some relief and a better sense of how to work with your energy. (But be warned that there may not always be peaceful reconciliation between these areas of tension. And sometimes that's the point - no peaceful solution.)
