In this week’s episode of The Active Code, hosts Paul Griffiths and Luke Johnson are joined by Gary Laybourne, Chief Executive Officer at Coach Core.

Who is Gary Laybourne?

Gary is an experienced sports coach and former triathlete whose mission to better the lives of the young apprentices he works with stems from his own life experiences.

As a coach, Gary has worked with various organisations and people from all walks of life over the last 20 years. Since 2012 he has worked with Coach Core and is now CEO.

Coach Core targets 16-24 year olds who are not in education, employment or training and uses sport and apprenticeship training as a vehicle to drive social mobility.

Gary and his team at Coach Core have helped grow the organisation to work with 600 apprentices in 15 locations in the UK and Gary has also created a strategic relationship with the Royal Foundation.
