Welcome to Episode 93 of The Afghanistan Project, where we cover all topics related to two decades of war in Afghanistan, and the fallout of our Afghanistan withdrawal.

Today, my guest is Kreshma Fakhri of Zan Times. Kreshma hasa master’s degree in political science and a bachelor’s degree in Persian literature from Kabul University. She started her journalism career in 2009 and since then her work has been published in various local and international media. She has worked as investigative reporter on issues such as corruption, human rights abuses, and violence against women and children.

We talked about the threats Kreshma faced in Afghanistan asa reporter, and how she fled to Turkey and later became involved in efforts to create a media platform where Afghan women could report on the issues they faced under Taliban rule. We talk about the important work of recruitment underway and the issues still facing women in Afghanistan today.
