In this episode, Sarah and her guest, Brianna Cuthrell, discuss how mindfulness can be used to minimize anxiety caused by anxious thinking. 90% of people have intrusive thoughts but it is rare for people to share their uncomfortable thoughts with others. We often experience shame about the thoughts that our minds create, which causes even more anxiety. Not to mention the anxiety and fight or flight responses the thoughts originally cause. But there are ways to process through this experience, which will leave you calm and confident. Mindfulness is an effective method for addressing intrusive thoughts and worries because this practice helps us accept the reality of the phenomenon of our brains while at the same time supporting us to not judge ourselves or our experience.
