In 1 Corinthians Chapter 4, the Holy Spirit continues addressing the divisions within the Corinthian church. Paul and Apollos are affirmed as faithful stewards of the mysteries of God — not because of their status, but because they were found faithful.

Paul highlights a dangerous arrogance that had crept into the church — a pride that produces lofty words but lacks the power of the Holy Spirit. He draws a sharp contrast:

“I will know, not the word of those who are puffed up, but the power. For the kingdom of God is not in word but in power.”

This chapter calls us to walk in the Spirit, not just talk about it — and to imitate those who truly live by the power of God, not just persuasive speech.
