Bio:

Andrew Hartzell is the musical director of Samba Savannah. Established in Savannah Georgia in 2013, Samba Savannah is a community-based educational organization dedicated to teaching and performing Brazilian Samba percussion styles.

Andrew has had the good fortune to have studied with Mestre Nego Gato, Mestre Almiro, Mestre Jorge Alabé, Mestre Ailton Nunes, Mestre Jonas, Carlinhos Pandeiro de Ouro, Eduardo (DuDu) Fuentes, Marcio Peeter, Wagner Santos, Pitoco de Aira, Mark Lamson, Michael Spiro, Brian Davis, and Francisco Marques.

He has for many years performed as a percussionist in other groups, playing a wide range of music.
