Layoffs are an inevitable part of the job market. Despite its impact on the individual and the organization, it can spark opportunities as well. People experiencing layoffs have the opportunity to reflect on aspects of their career they have long neglected due to a hectic schedule, thereby, changing the trajectory of their career. For some organizations, the act of laying off employees is a survival strategy for staying afloat financially. Other organizations, particularly start-ups, may see this as an opportunity to hire and recruit talent.
