Warner describes two pieces of cosmological evidence: the origin of the universe and the appearance of fine-tuning in the cosmos. Can these two pieces of evidence “inside the room” of the universe be explained by staying “inside the room”? This simple question helps homicide detectives determine if a death scene is a crime scene. Could the same question be applied to the evidence in the universe to determine if a cosmic “intruder” is the most reasonable inference?
