This is a generational problem that never healed, and now it has morphed into something even more covert.

To frame up the discussion, I introduce the idea of my friend Shannon Lanier and his famous ancestors. He is the 6th great grandson of Thomas Jefferson and his slave Sally Hemings. This is just one American family, but what he learned could help us all today.
