19 and Expecting? The Hard Truth About Life, Choices, and Freedom

Hey folks, Earnest Mann here. Today’s episode is longer than usual, but that’s because it’s important. A young listener, Reggie from O’Clair, Wisconsin, wrote to me in a state of panic—he got a girl pregnant after just two months of dating, and now both families are pushing him to get married. At only 19 years old, he doesn’t want to go down that path, and he’s asking me what the hell he should do. Well, I’ve got some real talk for Reggie and anyone else facing life-altering decisions under family pressure.

Are You Living for Yourself or Others?

The first thing I told Reggie was don’t let others decide your fate. Families love to manipulate, especially when emotions run high, but they won’t be the ones sacrificing 18 years of their life. If you’re in this situation, you’re not selfish for wanting a future of your own—you’re rational. The real manipulation is this societal lie that the responsibility for pregnancy falls solely on the man. It takes two to tango, and this idea that men "got the girl pregnant" is just another way of shaming men into submission.

The Biological Trap: Why Some Women Will Have a Baby No Matter What

A young male at 19 is biologically wired to want sex, not fatherhood. But a woman under 25 is wired to reproduce—and once that urge kicks in, logic flies out the window. No home? No financial security? Doesn’t matter. When a woman decides she wants a baby, she’ll make it happen by any means necessary. And here’s the brutal truth: she doesn’t truly care about your life, your dreams, or your future—only that she gets her baby.

The Nanny State: Designed to Destroy Men’s Lives

If Reggie stays, he’s stepping into a system designed to enslave him for the next 18 years. Even if he and his girlfriend break up, the courts will come after him for child support, whether he likes it or not. If she applies for government assistance, she’ll be required to sign papers letting the state hunt him down for money. That means wage garnishment, asset seizure, driver’s license suspension, and even jail time if he can’t pay.

Your Best Option? Disappear and Build Your Own Life

Reggie has two choices: convince her to abort or put the child up for adoption—or vanish. If she won’t agree to either, then he needs to disappear fast. There are ways to fall off the grid, including working on Alaskan fishing boats, joining the Merchant Marines, or even the French Foreign Legion—places where no one asks questions, and no court can track you.

The Bottom Line: Take Control or Be Controlled

Reggie’s choice is clear—stay and be trapped in a system that ruins men, or disappear and build a future on his own terms. If he follows this advice, he can live freely and start a real family when he’s actually ready—but if he caves to guilt, he’ll spend the next two decades paying for one reckless night.

Do you think I gave Reggie good advice? Let me know in the comments. And if you’ve got an extra $50,000 lying around, feel free to send it my way—I promise not to spend it on Vegas hookers and blow.
