Tidbits from Ryan Hamadeh:

1. FDI and BRE are looking to join their functions; based on our knowledge of the gaps faced by local businesses, FDI should collaborate with BRE team to bring in companies that would support local businesses in their supply chain gaps.

2. Business continuity plans are supper important. Your businesses should have a plan, and your community should understand the weak points of those businesses so that in an emergency, the right support is immediately made available.

3. Smaller communities should look at forging regional partnerships. Leverage your strengths and make yourself heard through regional partnerships.

4. Information sharing: it is crucial that information is shared transparently between the different stakeholders in a community and between regions. Google for examples makes it a point to collaborate with smaller businesses to foster innovation through a culture of information sharing.

5. Larger firms end up leaving the community in case of a disaster but not smaller ones. SME's have strong links to the community.

6. SME's could prevent overwhelming closure if they have a business continuity plan in place; a plan that big businesses already have.

7. Digital supply chain requires a robust cyber security infrastructure.

8. Map your community and understand the businesses who are at the highest risk of closure.

These are raw, uncut and unedited recordings. Think of them as unplugged. These podcasts are not about production values, but about the content of the conversations. We hope you enjoy.
