Isaiah 34:8-17
Isaiah tells of the specific fearful manifestations of God’s wrath on the world. The nation of Edom, an Old Testament enemy of Israel, is used an as example of both an historic in-time judgment that, per prophecy, never recovered, as well as a symbol of the mind-blowing extent of the worldwide destruction. Isaiah tells of a place where only desert animals and possibly demons will dwell. Isaiah also challenges us to check God’s prophetic word for its inimitable accuracy when these things come to pass.
