Author’s Note: Welcome back to The Fic List! As you may know from listening to our previous episodes, we record pretty far in advance - usually several weeks to a couple of months before they go live. As such, there are times when something we’ve recorded doesn’t sit quite right for the moment when it hits the airwaves. This is one of those times. We recorded this episode via Skype on April 25th. While we were in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic by then, we did not anticipate everything that has happened since. This episode is silly and a little flippant because, at the time, that’s how we were coping with the situation at hand - but we recognize that nothing about the last few weeks has been silly or flippant. We want to state unequivocally and without any hesitation that Black Lives Matter and that we support the movement for racial equity and justice for Black and Indigenous people of color. This Pride month, we particularly want to recognize and pay respect to our BIPOC queer and trans elders and siblings, who are the pillars of the queer community and without whom Pride would not exist.
