Sitting with me in the Firehouse is Dominick Albanese . Dominick is a true hometown hero, having dedicated his life to serving his community through the Freeport Fire Department and the United States Navy. After joining the Ever Ready Hose Company #1 right out of high school, Dominick quickly rose through the ranks, becoming a Cass A Firefighter, NYS water rescue swimmer, and 2nd Lieutenant. He also serves on the department's elite Dive Squad. Dominick's commitment extends beyond the firehouse - he spent 9 years on active duty as an Intelligence Specialist, deploying all over the world, and is now a Nassau County Police Officer. With a bachelor's degree in emergency management and homeland security, and a master's degree in progress, Dominick is a highly trained and experienced first responder. But his true passion lies in the camaraderie of the fire service, which has become a second family and shaped him into the dedicated public servant he is today.
