A public lie seeks to minimize or neutralize the impact of a person. Told often enough, loud enough, long enough and people believe it. People are manipulated by public lies. “Do not be deceived, God will not be mocked. Whatever a man sows, that he is going to reap” (Gal 6:7). “With his mouth, the godless person will destroy his neighbor, but through knowledge, the righteous will be rescued” (Prov 11:9). How do you respond if you’re the subject of a lie? With forgiveness, as mandated by Christ (Eph 4:32). Half forgiveness is not genuine forgiveness, it’s just half forgiveness.
