In today’s episode of The Friday Podcast, Cholil Mahmud talks about the first day away, death of a friend and current political views. Best known as the frontman of Efek Rumah Kaca (ERK), a band celebrated for its socially conscious and often poignant music. Cholil navigated an extraordinary period in his career while living in the U.S. for family and academic reasons just as his band was gaining immense popularity back in Indonesia. Despite the distance, he maintained a creative connection with ERK. Now back in Indonesia coming off a successful concert "Rimpang" last year, Cholil and ERK are poised to bring that concert experience and unique set into the Joyland stage. Make sure not to miss their performence on the second day of Joyland Jakarta 2024 on the 23rd of November. Get your tickets at joylandfest.com
