Despidiéndonos de personas que amamos y quienes nos aman En el evangelio que les acabo de leer Jesús está hablando con sus discípulos por la última vez antes de ser capturado y crucificado en el Calvario. Jesús así se despide de los que más amaba. Jesús está orando en voz alta frente a ellos. Está hablando con su Padre Celestial para que le cuida a sus discípulos. Le pide a su Padre así: “Padre santo, cuida en tu nombre a los que me has dado, para que sean uno, como nosotros. y también…… para que mi gozo llegue a su plenitud en ellos . En la primera lectura San Pablo hace la misma cosa. Pablo ya sabe que su misión recibida del mismo Jesús. Su misión se acaba. Sabe Pablo que la muerte le espera en Roma. Por eso Pablo habla así a sus compañeros: Ahora los encomiendo a Dios y a su palabra salvadora, la cual tiene fuerza para que todos los consagrados a Dios crezcan en el espíritu y alcancen la herencia prometida. Y Pablo se preocupa de los pobres como hacía Jesús mismo. Les dice: . Siempre he mostrado que hay que trabajar así, para ayudar como se debe a los necesitados, recordando las palabras del Señor Jesús: ‘Hay más felicidad en dar que en recibir’ ”. Dicho esto, se arrodilló para orar con todos ellos. Es muy importante recordar las conversaciones que hemos tenido antes de la muerte de los que mas habían amado y a quienes mas hemos amado. Así pasó con mi querido hermanito Danny cuando ya hacen cinco años iba muriendo. Él me habló con ternura, pero fuerza. Porque él sabía que yo tenía muchas cosas de aprender. Por eso me dijo: “No me diga que voy a tratar a crecer. ¡¡Por Dios crezca!! Hermanas y hermanos las palabras de Jesús. Las palabras de Pablo nos invitan a recordar hoy las últimas conversaciones que hemos tenido con los que mas nos querían. Y Crezcamos en amor para Dios y para los pobres también. PABLO, ATENAS Y NOSOTROS El refrán dice: Del dicho al hecho hay un gran trecho… Cito este refrán porque Pablo le decía muchas cosas hermosas sobre Cristo a la gente de Atenas. Pero cuando les habló sobre la resurrección de Jesús se reían y dijeron: "De esto te oiremos hablar en otra ocasión" El evangelio hoy nos explica como Pablo podía habla tan profundamente sobre Dios y sobre Jesús. Dice el evangelio de Juan hoy: cuando venga el Espíritu de la verdad, él los irá guiando hasta la verdad plena, porque no hablará por su cuenta, sino que dirá lo que haya oído y les anunciará las cosas que van a suceder . Porque el Espíritu Santo había caído con fuerza sobre Paul. Pero tardó un poco con la gente de Atenas. Pero esta prédica de Paul no fue un fracaso total. Porque dos personas importantes creyeron las palabras de Paul. Fueron: Dionisio, un hombre de la corte allá en Atenas y una mujer llamada Damaris. Ambos creyeron potentemente en las palabras de Pablo. La fe en Cristiandad crecía grande en otras partes de Grecia. Y poco a poco después de trescientos años en el cuarto siglo los atenienses estaban creyendo en un Dios que, como Pablo les había dicho: es quien da a todos la vida, el aliento y cuanto tienen. Y iban conociendo un Dios que quiere lo busquemos aunque lo hagamos lentamente, poco a poco … Por fin, aunque tardía casi 300 años la gente de Atenas iban conociendo un Dios que está muy cercano a nosotros, amándonos continuamente. Y los Atenienses como todos nosotros estamos dándonos cuenta un poco mas cada día que EN DIOS DEBEMOS VIVIR,…..
