Hey, Habit Thrivers, how has April been treating you so far?

For some, it's been pretty dreary and cold - and, honestly, not very spring-like at all!

Today, on episode #146 of the Habit Thrive Podcast, we're talking about April: The Messy Middle.

We're going to explore habits and routines to help us embrace that in-between time, transitioning from winter to spring.

This is the season of "almost".

Almost there

Almost blooming

Almost ready

You may be even feeling it in your body:

  • Heavy and sluggish in the mornings
  • Not quite motivated
  • Maybe a little joy bubbling, but also a little resistance
  • A little longing.

Welcome to the messy middle.

So, how do we work with the seasonal change instead of against it?

Rituals, habits and routines!

1. A mindset ritual.

Take a moment with your journal, and write yourself a little mindset mantra to remind yourself to rest, be present, and be patient with what is to come.

2. A food ritual.

Shift from heavy foods to lighter fare. Choose things that detox and refresh the body.

3. A motivation ritual.

Just move. Don't overthink it, and don't over-plan it. Just get up and dance! (or walk, or stretch...)

4. A home ritual.

Start small, and declutter that kitchen drawer or reorganize a shelf. Clear the space to make room for what is next!

Remember: You are not the person you were yesterday, and you are not yet the person you will become tomorrow. You are in a sacred middle space. Give yourself some space to bloom!
