In the Korean language, titles (known as 호칭/hoching) are used instead of first names to maintain respect. Some common ones are “unnie” (older sister) and “oppa” (older brother). Becky and Cedric respond to a listener mail asking about these titles and what it means when Koreans don’t use the proper formal term with someone who isn’t… fully Korean?
