This week, Sarah Lyew jumps back into our "I Am..." series with a teaching on Jesus declaring himself to be the true vine. Am I growing Jesus-shaped grapes?

As a technical note, you will notice that the sound quality for this recording is quite poor. The explanation is simple: the device (phone) used to record the teachings did not recognize the input from the sound board and, so, recorded the entire thing through the phone's microphone. Whoops! So, if you think the recording sounds like it's being made from a distance in a large room... that's because it is. On the other hand, the sound quality in the room was crystal clear and all are welcome to join us in-person for Sunday morning gatherings. :)

Please find the slide deck for this week's teaching here.

Home Church Questions:

1. Where is somewhere that is “home” for you? Who is someone who knows you well? What changes for you either when you are there or are with that person?

2. Read John 15:1-17. What stood out to you from this passage?

3. What do you think 'pruning' in this passage looks like in real life? What are things you think God would prune from someone’s life?

4. Read Galatians 5:22-25. What stood out to you from this passage?

5. What does this fruit look like in real life?

6. Sarah suggested that, as we learn to remain in Jesus and he in us and as we are pruned and grow, our “fruit” becomes better quality. Do you agree? What does that look like in your experience?

7. As we become more intimate with someone, things change—we adjust to include them and even begin to reflect them. As you’ve grown in your faith, have you seen your prayer life change?

8. Pray with and for one another.
