Today’s podcast is a special episode recorded live at the recent – and it has to be said, hugely impressive – annual Bauma construction technology event in Munich.

My today is Ivan Di Federico, the newly appointed President and CEO of Topcon Positioning Systems, one of – if not the leading global player in the positioning and machine automation technology sector, technology that is now ubiquitous in infrastructure and agriculture today.

It is a fascinating time to talk to Ivan.

He took over the reigns at Topcon six months ago from long standing former CEO Ray O’Conner, at a moment when the worlds of infrastructure and agriculture are undergoing a massive digital transformation, driven by automation, AI, and advanced positioning technologies.

As a global leader in GPS positioning, machine control, and precision technology, Topcon is at the forefront of this evolution, helping to enhance productivity, sustainability, and efficiency across industry.

The question is how does a business like Topcon stay ahead of the curve - and the competition? Well, if anyone knows it’s Ivan

– so I started our conversation by finding out how, six months into the role, he saw the business navigating complex and changing global challenges facing infrastructure and technology.
