๐๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ญ: Shane is a Quad Cities native and UTHS alum. After graduation, he joined the United States Navy, completing a Mediterranean cruise in 2001 and a WestPac cruise in 2003. In 2017, Shane joined the Department of Veteran Affairs and is currently an Outreach Program Specialist. In his spare time, you will find Shane staying busy with his wife and three children who are very active in their school marching bands and Show Choir. They also love the outdoors - whether it be fishing, bike riding, going for a walk, or spending time in the hosta garden, with over 40 different varieties!
๐๐ฎ๐๐ฌ๐ญ: Caitilin Harbecke, LISW, Veterans Affairs Suicide Prevention Outreach & Education Specialist
๐๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ญ: Caiti is a Licensed Independent Social Worker who has worked with a variety of different populations, including children, individuals with disabilities, and older adults. She graduated from Augustana College with a bachelor's degree in psychology. She completed her education with a Masters of Social Work from the University of Iowa. Caiti has served as a member of the Iowa City VA Health Care Systemโs comprehensive Suicide Prevention Program for over five years. She began as a crisis intervention therapist assisting and supporting veterans who were identified as being at acute risk for suicide. She now focuses on outreach and education to provide support and educate community partners across Eastern Iowa & Western Illinois on suicide prevention and the VAโs efforts to provide a more public health approach to reducing veteran suicide.
